Coffee in France (and other Ramblings)
Coffee in France is good, but potent, and expensive! When you order a coffee in France you’ll pay about €3 for a little expresso cup. Not to worry though, it’s about 5 times as strong as anything you’d get here. If you want a regular size coffee you have to remember ot order a cafe grande or cafe au lait.
The French could have invented the phrase “you get what you pay for.” Everything in France is a little more expensive than what you’d find in Canada or the US, but the quality is much better. Especially when it comes to food. The French do take their food very seriously. The whole French Women Don’t get Fat” theory is a load of crap, by the way. French women do so get fat, and they do eat big portions! Large portions and/or multi-course meals are common in France. You can go into a basic cafe or restaurant and order the 3 or 4 course meal for about €15 or €20. I couldnt finish my food most of the time! Oh, and when eating with friends or family, seconds are often obligatory.
What else can I say about France? It was cold and damp in December, and everything there is so old. Everything in France seems older than anything n Canada
I don’t mean that in a bad way – it’s got so much character. I couldn’t believe how different everything is there (in a good way).
Now, on to the photos!
