I’m Getting a New Laptop!
We just ordered it last night from The Linux Store. We were very happy to find a place that does Linux laptops in Canada. Otherwise I would have had to order from the US and pay customs fees which is a pain.
I’m getting a 15″ Lenovo 3000 N100 with a 1.6Ghz processor and 1gig ram. Ubuntu pre-installed. Liam has the email with the rest of the specs. It should be here in a few days!! Yay!
The computer I was using at home is 5 years old and I was really starting to get annoyed with it.

Unfortunately we’re not getting one of those. They’ve just found they’re out of stock (must have sold the last one while we were making our minds up).
Here’s what they have instead:
IBM Lenovo N100 Intel Core Duo T2300 1.66G $975
(1GB, 80GB SATA, DVD/CDRW,14.1″ 1280×800, Wireless-G, Bluetooth, 1 yr warr.)
Acer Aspire 5602WLMi-MCE Intel Core Duo 1.66G $939
(1GB, 120GB, DVDRW,15.4″WXGA, Wireless-G)
Acer Aspire 5102WLMi AMD Turion64 TL50 X2 $909
(1GB, 120GB, DVDRW,15.4″WXGA, Cam, Wireless-G)
Acer 8204WLMi-CAM Intel Core Duo T2500 2G $1,765
(2GB,120GB,DVDRW, 15.4″, Wireless-G & Gigabit Lan,5in1 reader, bluetooth, 1.3MP Cam, ATI X1600 256M)
Sorry about that.

We decided on the Lenovo 14″ (first option). After getting out a ruler to see how big 14″ would be vs. 15″. I want something smaller so I can move around with it so I think 14″ will be best

I was thinking ‘That’s not bad for a laptop at all’, but then I remembered it was in Canadian dollars. Still much better than paying customs on it.
