Announcing A Padded Cell: the new content site from The Webmaster Forums
It’s ready! We’ve finally got the site in good enough shape for public viewing. I meant to post about this a week ago but so many things have come up that I wasn’t able to finish the post! So here it is:
A Padded Cell
The name comes from a longstanding joke we’ve had on the forums. Whenever anyone starts to act a little crazy we send them off to our virtual “padded cell” to recoup. We decided it would be a unique and fun name for the new site, and a testament to all the troubles webmasters go through when building sites. It is, of course, a silly pun on padded table cells! Our site will be a safe place to recover from the craziness and learn how to get better at web design :)
The site will contain all sorts of content. We plan to publish a range between beginner and lower-advanced level material. We realize that there are a lot of sites out there for the advanced web designer so we will try to reach all the beginners & intermediates out there who need help.
This is the start of pre-launch period where we will look for feedback, make sure everything is working smoothly, and start to get the site crawled by search engines. The site will be launched officially in about a month. The forum will be updated with a matching design at that time.
I am really not happy with the logo right now. We want a fun & friendly look and feel but this is a little too childish. Unfortunately, I really suck at logos

That’s a cool website, what publishing platform are you using on it?

It’s drupal. Liam had some difficulties beating it into shape but it was still the best choice for us.
I’m glad you like the site
