Here’s my Opera – Where’s Yours?
OperaWatch pointed out a call for submissions for a compilation of interesting screenshots from non-Firefox browsers at LifeHacker.
I submitted mine, although it’s not really that interesting compared to what you could do with O:
My screenshot shows some of my web developer buttons in action (available from the Opera Wiki) and what’s on my speed dial page (TWF is the one hidden under the developer toolbar)
And, just for fun, 5 reasons why I love Opera (in no particular order):
- I can do almost anything with the interface.
- It has mail included, so I don’t have extra windows cluttering my taskbar.
- It has lots of extra productivity features built in (such as mouse gestures, speed dial, customizable search, extra shortcuts, user stylesheets/javascript etc.) and I don’t have to go looking around for add-ons. Even with all these extras Opera is still a lightweight, fast, and usable browser.
- It has a true Multiple Document Interface, which I think works way better than the tabbed interface other browsers use.
- You can do even more customization by running opera:config or editing the .ini files by hand. So much control!
Of course, those are my top 5 for today. I’m sure 5 minutes after I post this I’ll think of something else that I love!
Back to the point of this entry – post a comment or send me a trackback with a screenshot of your browser in action! Show off your favourite features or extensions. I always like to see what other people do
P.S. No need to make this into a battle of the browsers! If you love Firefox or Safari or Konquerer or something else then that’s okay. If you love IE I might think you’re a little strange. I think comparing Opera, FIrefox, Safari, Konquerer etc. is sort of like comparing fruit. All tasty, healthy, nutritious options, but all very different. We all may prefer one fruit to another, that’s all
